ISSUES AND BELIEFS
Nick López: Built to Serve, Ready to Lead.
A Leader You Can Trust
Nick López has spent his life in service—first in the military, then as a firefighter. Now, he’s ready to bring that same integrity, accountability, and work ethic to Heber City government. Nick isn’t a career politician—he’s a public servant who listens, leads by example, and puts the community first.
Community-First Leadership
Believes in transparency, honesty, and delivering on commitments.
Listens with empathy and respects diverse perspectives.
Supports civil, respectful dialogue—even during disagreement.
Puts public input before personal opinion.
Smart, Responsible Growth
Opposes further annexation until infrastructure and services can support it.
Has no ties to developers and refuses to make private deals. NO SPECIAL INTERESTS.
Believes development should reflect Heber’s character and follow city code.
Would have opposed The Views project due to scale, design, and community concerns.
Conservation has to be THE priority. We should support private owners who want to conserve their lands.
Fiscal Responsibility
Prioritizes funding for essential services like roads, water, and public safety.
Opposes spending on unnecessary or politicized projects (e.g., CRA, C Street).
Advocates for balanced budgets and living within the city’s means.
Fixing Roads and Traffic
Has always opposed a bypass through the North Fields. Feels that this is an example of failed leadership. UDOT should maximize the real estate they already have by adding a lane in each direction along US40. Of UDOT’s two current proposals, Alternative A - with some adjustments and modifications is the better of the two short-sighted options.
Opposes routing traffic through established neighborhoods like 1300 South.
Believes UDOT must be held accountable to improve Main Street and reduce congestion.
Supports both transportation needs and historic preservation on Main Street.
Balanced Housing Solutions
Acknowledges the need for housing but calls for balanced, thoughtful planning.
Emphasizes adherence to city code and inclusive community involvement.
Supports private property rights alongside long-term community interests.
Protecting Neighborhoods
Favors stronger regulation of short-term rentals (like Airbnbs) to protect quality of life.
Supports limits on the height and location of cell towers—especially near homes, schools, and parks.
A Commitment to Service
"This community has given me everything—now it’s my turn to serve it with integrity and accountability."
